It is important to plan a worming programme for your horse in order to control roundworms, redworms and pinworms effectively over the year.
Regular worming can help to reduce existing worm population and reduce the egg burden on the pasture.
Choose a 'routine wormer', that you plan to use for general worming throughout the year. This should be given regularly according to the manufacturers recommendations. It is also essential to rotate the routine wormer used annually to prevent resistance build up.
As well as the routine wormer, a strategic dose with a specific wormer should be given to control tapeworm, bots and encysted small redworm larvae.
We will gladly help you plan an individual worming strategy and supply you with a Laycock's Horse Worming Calendar on request. We also stock a wide range of feed supplements bandages, dressings, poultices and disinfectants for equine use.
